What did we do to update in this car to be street legal?
1.-Windshield
We need to install an original glass windshield and replace the Plexiglas.
This is the OLD picture of the windshield:
This is the pictures of the new windshield:
We also removed the aluminium bar in the middle and fix the aluminium safety windshield pins
2.-TIRES
From Race tires to street all touring tires
3.-ELECTRICAL
We need to install headlights, turn signals, horn, windshield wipers and tail lights and update the fuse fox.
These are the pictures after installation of the main electrical needs to be street legal.
Gages and horn
New switches
Updated fuse box
4.Carburators are setup for daytona racing, therefore we need to setup them for regular road conditions.
5.-WINDSHIELD WIPERS
The car didn't have any wipers, so we needed to install the motor and the wipers to make it work on the street.
This is the picture after installation:
6.-PAINT, DECALS AND EMBLEMS
The Car has some paint chips and mirror installation holes that need to be repair but the paint still looks good after 25 years so we dont want to loose all the old decals from racing back in the 80s and 90s. So, we will just uptate some decals and wheels and body emblems. It will be wrong to paint this car and to loose all its history.
Add the 914-6 emblem
Add the Porsche gold letters to match the 914-6 emblem
Add a new Porsche decal in the side skirt of the car in both sides
Replace old brake pads and painted in red the calipers
7.-WINDOWS
The car didn't have any windows, therefore we need to install a custom window to be able to drive the car during rain or to park the car on the street.
This is an old picture without the windows:
This is a picture to get an idea on what to do:
And this is what we came up with:
It takes literally 3 seconds to put them on or off.
The car floors needs to be updated to rally standards
Adding the aluminium floors and red carpets on each side of the sill plates area will give more confort and security and a better looking car,
9. SEATS
We had a SINGLE seat and it was old and broken with a 5 point seat belt. Therefore we needed something safe, faster to put the seat belt and with two seats to make it more convenient and fun.
So, we replaced with this beautiful driver and passenger Recaro seats
The front bumper is very low to drive the car on the street and it is not the stock bumper for a Porsche 914 body.
This is an old picture of the bumper
This is a new picture of the GT Stock bumper
Also we add the stock front grills
